ROLLA CHAPTER
GWIS Rolla Chapter Welcome you!
About GWIS
GWIS was first established in 1921 at Cornell University and became a national organization in 1992 to provide a society for recognition, encouragement and assistance of women in science. National conferences are being held since then to provide the opportunity for women to gather together and pass their experience on others. More than 1000 women in STEM areas around the United States are a member of GWIS and almost every state has its own chapter to help GWIS on attaining its goal including participation in mentoring programs, support of local science fairs, sponsorship of college students’ receptions, workshops or career days, brown bag lunches, or speakers bureau participation.
GWIS Rolla Chapter has been founded recently. We have so many graduate women in Rolla studying and working in different STEM areas at Missouri University of Science and Technology and we would like to promote women presence and see more and more women entering graduate levels every year.
